Chapter 1 : “Don’t be afraid, I am a girl.”

Editor : Theatrical Idiot

The laboratory was brightly lit, and Xing Jia finally got up after memorizing the last set of experimental data. Looking at the clock on the wall, she found that she has been working for two hours. Because of the darkness, her figure was clearly reflected on the glass window of the laboratory.

Xing Jiaxin looked at herself in the glass, pulled her elbow, and tilted her waist. There was a head sticking out of the glass behind her, sneakily with a strange face.

Xing Jiaxin turned her head and looked over, asking sharply: “Who?”

The person at the door staggered in and finally revealed his whole body: “Sister, I am a 15-th grade graduate, student Zhang Ming.”

The name was as indifferent as it looks. Jiaxin ignored him and bowed her head to clean up the data sheet on the table. The person behind did not leave, and Xing Jia was feeling a little irritable. Waiting until she finished packing her things, the boy said again: “Sister, are you coming to the dinner party this weekend?”

Xing Jiaxin was very annoyed, so she replied very coldly and stiffly: “No.”

“Senior Sister,” The boy did not give up, “Everyone will be there, Professor Zhang is also going to be there. It’s an annual party dinner…”

Xing Jiaxin took her bag and jacket and went out while the boy was still nagging: “Eating, singing, playing charades, dancing, if you feel it’s too noisy, there are also hot springs over there, you can go to relax….”

Xing Jiaxin walked to him and interrupted him: “No.”

The boy was interrupted, and he stood there frozen.

“Let me lock the door.” Xing Jiaxin said as she came out of the laboratory.

She inserted the key into the door hole, twisted the lock twice, and pulled it again to confirm it was locked properly. Zhang Ming stood aside and watched her movements blankly. Jiaxin’s fingers were long and beautiful, and it seemed as if flowers could blossom by simply locking the door.

Without looking at Zhang Ming again, she shook off the white jacket on her arm and put it on as she walked.

Few people wore such light colors in winter. Xing Jiaxin’s figure seems to exude a soft light, and she had her hair tied in a low ponytail. The beautiful long, curly hair swaying on the thin back was enough to entice people. Zhang Ming kept watching her walk away, only to remember the rejection he faced just now.

He took out his phone and looked at it. Many people in the WeChat group were asking if he had persuaded the goddess to join them.

-No. – He made a crying expression.

Then, a series of news flooded out.

-I know [cry]-

-I bet if someone can make the goddess come, then I will give them red envelopes!

-Why is Xing-senpai not coming to the annual dinner? The tutors are all going.

-You don’t know this.. the goddess is like the snow lotus on a mountain. How can she enjoy the low-level fun with us?

-Yes, she has to devote herself to scientific research.

……

Zhang Ming felt a little sad. He had been in the institute for an internship for two months. This was the first time the goddess has spoken to him. He had worked hard to get to talk with her, and has practiced a lot. But, the persuasion lines had ended up in four sentences.

Who?

No.

No.

Let me lock the door.

It was so cold, Zhang Ming shrank and pulled up the zipper on his jacket that he had just opened to show himself.

After wearing the helmet, hat, and gloves Xing Jiaxin sat in her little car.

Orange City is to the south, and though the winter was not too cold, tonight it was drizzling and the air was thick and shady. Jiaxin turned on the heater on her electric car. The battery was full, so she started the car with confidence and drove out of the research institute. The car was well insulated from wind and rain.

While the location of the research institute was not so good, the house she rented was a bit better. Along the way, only a few large trucks passed her in the opposite direction, so it was fairly peaceful. Rea d On Yu ri Tran slations

Fortunately Jiaxin liked this kind of moment very much. It was only being close with nature that made her feel relaxed and happy.

The little car suddenly stopped at the entrance of the supermarket, in the middle of the journey. Xing Jiaxin locked the car and went into the supermarket to buy food for the next two days. A box of instant noodles, mustard pickles, sausages, bread, and yogurt of various flavors were carried in a box, and the cart was full when they left the supermarket.

At the entrance of the supermarket, a few men gathered together to smoke, standing next to her little car. Jiaxin had already sorted the bag and made sure that she could easily put it on the little car. Then she carried the bag and said coldly: “Please move.”

The man turned around and saw her, and quickly took a step back.

But there was another person in front of her. Xing Jiaxin frowned when she smelled the smell of smoke in the air. When she spoke again, her tone became very uncomfortable: “I said move aside.”

The man behind her had a loud voice and then said, “Isn’t this moving aside?!”

“I didn’t tell you.”

She didn’t bother to look at the face, staring at the one wearing a old leather jacket, “I told you.”

The leather jacket didn’t say a word, and someone beside her smiled and said, “The little girls now-a-days have a strong temper.”

Xing Jiaxin was very impatient. Although she didn’t want to have any contact with these people, the long-term pain was not as good as the short-term pain. She lifted her foot and walked forward, smashed the arm of the leather jacket, and finally squeezed past. She thought she finally got rid of it, but after taking two steps, she was caught.

The leather jacket grabbed her jacket but Jiaxin didn’t hesitate, and the plastic bag full of food in her hand slammed into the person’s face.

“Boom”, the sound was crisp.

She learned a lot of women’s self-defense skills. After smashing this one, she threw something and ran away. When she was about to shout loudly, the leather jacket said: “Don’t shout.”  The cold and calm words revealed a little irritability.

Jiaxin was not stupid. If you tell me to not shout, will I not shout?! Immediately she pulled out the highest voice of the year and shouted: “It’s on fire–!”

The two idlers at the entrance of the supermarket looked over immediately.

Jiaxin wanted to shout again, but the leather jacket stepped forward and patted her little pink electric car: “Is this car yours?”

“Do you want to…” She failed to speak, the word ‘steal’, when the leather jacket said: “You… The car broke down.”

Jiaxin was stunned.

A security guard came out from the supermarket, and the leather jacket repeated: “Your car broke down.”

“Where did it break down?” Xing Jiaxin asked from a distance.

“The chain is off.” The leather jacket bent over and knocked on the chainring. “It’s dangerous.”

Fortunately the electric car, which had pedals, were only used by Xing Jiaxin for a very little time, so she did not notice this problem at all. Looking down at the light at the entrance of the supermarket, the little e-car really fell off a loose chain, as if laughing at Xing Jiaxin.

The supermarket security came to Xing Jiaxin and asked her, “Are you okay?”

Xing Jiaxin pointed to the little car: “I’m okay, my car broke down.”

The security guard walked over to the little electric car and bent over to study. The leather jacket straightened up, put their hands in jacket pockets, and stared directly at Xing Jiaxin. This person was standing in the backlit position and wearing a baseball cap. Jiaxin couldn’t see the face and didn’t want to look at their face either.

The security guard fought against the car for a while, when the leather jacket suddenly poked his back to beckon him to get up, squatted down, and within four or five seconds, the chain was installed with the pedal turning.

The leather jacket, then turned around and walked a few steps back, blending into the circle of men. Jiaxin stood there, realised that she had misunderstood someone, and didn’t know what to do for a while.

The security guard came over and said to her: “The car is repaired, are you okay?”

“I’m okay.” Xing Jiaxin said heartily, “Thank you.”

“Don’t shout indiscriminately in the future.” The security guard threw a word and turned back and headed into the supermarket.

Xing Jiaxin’s face, as if it had been blown by the cold wind for a long time, the fire burned up. Her food was still scattered on the ground, and her little e-car was still parked in the distance. She walked over step by step, even though she lowered her head and didn’t look, she could still feel the gaze coming from the men’s circle.

Their gaze felt like thorns shot at her.

She quickened her pace, picked up things on the ground, quickly walked to the little e-car carrying the bag, and then stuffed it all into the trunk. It couldn’t fit in, and the more anxious she was, the more she panicked she became. She almost heard the laughter of those men, and she could guess every terrible word they were whispering.

Jiaxin’s fingers trembled, and a cold wind hit her with the rain, making her body shake.

“Put the milk in front.” Suddenly someone said behind her.

Xing Jiaxin’s heart was startled, and reflexively she was about to push her car away, when the person behind her raised her hand to stabilize her car as if predictable. The two were extremely close, and Xing Jiaxin looked down and saw the leather jackets on the person behind her. Rea d On Yu ri Tran slations

She jumped suddenly, and everything did not follow the usual routine. She wanted to dig a hole and bury herself in it.

There was a second of silence.

“Don’t be afraid,” The leather jacket paused, “I’m a girl.”

Xing Jiaxin suddenly raised her head, as if a drowning man grabbed a driftwood, she finally looked at the person’s face. Under the backlight, she saw a sharp chin contour, thin lips, and a tall nose. The leather jacket turned her head, and a short ponytail appeared behind the baseball cap. It was tied with a double-layer thin spiral rubber band that girls like.

Xing Jiaxin’s heartbeat finally slowed down, and her breathing finally became smoother. She could hear the broadcast in the supermarket and the sound of trees blowing in the distance. Everything was back to normal.

Xing Jiaxin nodded: “I see, thank you.”

“Let me help you.” said the leather jacket.

“No, thank you.”

The leather jacket didn’t listen to her. She took the yogurt box in her hand and placed it on the footrest in front of the little e-car. Xing Jiaxin lowered her head to look at her fingers that were so white. The leather jacket took her other bag, and stuffed it into the trunk.

“Wait a minute,” said the leather jacket.

She stepped to the place where she threw things in two steps, knelt down and picked up the cookies on the floor. There was a biscuit packet that rolled far away, and it was Xing Jiaxin’s favorite chocolate Oreos.

The leather jacket returned to her, stuffed the biscuits into the bag, buckled the trunk, and patted it.

“Okay.” The leather jacket took a step back, still with the thin lips. Xing Jiaxin finally heard the gentle voice of the girl, “Be careful on the road.”

Xing Jiaxin rode out the car until the supermarket was far away. She couldn’t see what was happening behind her, and her head was frozen like as if someone had hit the pause button on her.

The Chin, lips, nose… and those eyes that she didn’t see.

It must be a long and narrow single eyelid, with the corners of the eyes hanging slightly, and when she laughs, it would look like fishes swimming in the sea….

Tan You.

Xing Jiaxin slammed the brakes and stopped the car.
