Chapter 3 : “Do you know who I am?”

Editor : Theatrical Idiot

Although the place for dinner was in the city, the view of the hot spring was very good, and there were complete sets of hand-painted postcards for sale. Zhang Ming felt that Xing Jiaxin would like it, so he bought a set and stuffed it into his bag.

After Saturday’s dinner party got over, it was already ten o’clock in the evening when he returned home. So, on Sunday, Zhang Ming wrote in the postcard carefully and found a bottle of perfume at the bottom of the pressure box that he didn’t know who gave it to him.

After spraying it, he solemnly took it and put it on his backpack.

Finally his most awaited Monday arrived, and Zhang Ming came to the research institute early in the morning. His plan was to wait for Xing Jiaxin to appear in the laboratory downstairs, then pretend for it to be a chance encounter and then give her the postcard.

But the uncle doorman disrupted his plan with a single sentence: “Why are you here so early today?”

“I’m… waiting for someone.”

“For the beautiful doctor Xiao Xing?” The uncle smiled authentically.

Zhang Ming was happy and frustrated. He was happy that everyone praised his goddess for being beautiful and smart. But what frustrated him, was that he didn’t know how to greet the goddess who was not even in the same class as him.

In the classroom on the fifth floor, the lights were on.

Zhang Ming didn’t dare to wander around the door. So, He pretended to walk by near a low window, squinted in and saw a focused silhouette. Xing Jiaxin was holding a monolithic magnifying glass, her hair pinned behind her ears, and her outline looking very beautiful. Zhang Ming’s hand holding the phone was about to move. He wanted to take a picture of her. But, When he took out his phone to take a sneak shot of her, Xing Jiaxin suddenly looked over.

Zhang Ming’s fingers trembled with shock. The phone jumped, jumped, jumped, and fell to the ground.

This time, Xing Jiaxin didn’t even give him the word “who.” She turned her face indifferently, and continued to observe the fragile instruments on the table carefully. Zhang Ming picked up his phone, blushed with shame, and ran away in small steps. He did not go to the fifth floor again this day.

Professor Wang was on a business trip and would not be in the institute for some days. So, Jiaxin picked the batch of goods sent by Tan You, checked it carefully, and she didn’t pick out any problems.

After having lunch in the cafeteria at noon, she went to the warehouse. She had come here frequently in the past two days.  The warehouseman had already remembered her and he asked, “Here to pick up the goods again?”

“Not to pick up the goods.” Xing Jiaxin put the bag in her hand on the uncle’s table, “This is good, you can try it.” The uncle was flattered.

There are many smart girls in the institute, but very few who were as beautiful as Xing Jiaxin.

This kind of girl, who entered the institute at a young age, and even if she was still in the stage of doing research with the tutor, she absolutely has no shortage of suitors from all walks of life. Being spoiled makes it easy to become arrogant. And, as Xing Jiaxin’s usual temperament is cold, she could be more arrogant.

But the girl, instead, had run to the warehouse in the past few days to get the goods. She didn’t finish checking it all at a time, and took it one by one, then returned them one by one. It was really strange.

Now it is even stranger to give him some fruits to eat.

Uncle glanced at the bag, and the fruits looked quite expensive. He opened the door for her and asked, “What’s the matter?”

Xing Jiaxin didn’t go around with him, and said directly: “I want to know if there is anything going out recently.”

“I go in and out every day, what do you want to know? I only have some scraps left.”

She knows things cannot be easily transported to other companies, so she asked: “How much scraps do you have?”

“Hmm… when put together, it’ll take a trip to pull them all out.”

“Is it usable?”

“It isn’t.” The uncle shook his head, “Usually, we won’t have so many scraps. This time it is because of the south side refurbishment, so the construction waste, and old equipment has piled up. If you want something, say it.”

“I want it all.” Xing Jiaxin said astonishingly.

“Who cares about this?” The uncle’s eyes widened: “All of it?! Does anyone in your family do this business?”

Family members? Xing Jiaxin thought of the way Tan You laughed, and nodded: “Yes, the water does not flow into the field of outsiders.”1

Little Note 1. This is a principle followed in ancient china within the royal family, Where in order to maintain the royal lineage, they often married between the relatives.. Here, Jiaxin thinks of Tan You as her family member.

She said so frankly, that the uncle could only point in one direction: “Look for Director Zhang.”

Xing Jiaxin came to the research institute two years back, and she had never troubled anyone. She did her best for the work she should do, and even for the work she shouldn’t do, as long as it is delivered to her, she would do her best.

This kind of independent and outstanding female student, no matter how cold the temperament she has, she would still make the tutor happy. Moreover, once people who have such a contrast come over to have a word with you, one can’t help but feel flattered and happy.

Therefore, Jiaxin’s trip to ask someone to do something, was as smooth as applying for one more eraser.

Before leaving and getting off work in the afternoon, she even got all the stamping procedures done. When the clock on the wall jumped to half past five, Xing Jiaxin stood up abruptly and began to pack things.

There was still someone in the laboratory, an unfamiliar school girl, who looked over at the moment she got up, but did not speak. Naturally, Xing Jiaxin would not take the initiative.

She hurried out of the laboratory with her bag, trotted downstairs, and when passing by the guard room, Uncle Li took off his glasses and asked her in surprise: “Xiao Xing, are you leaving early today?”

“Yes, see you tomorrow.” Rea d On Yu ri Tran slations♡

Xing Jiaxin’s heart was very excited and she didn’t even look back at uncle Li.

At the end of getting off work, and leaving the institute, there was nothing to explain. But for a bunch of people staring at her in the graduate group, this was big news.

-Zhang Ming, Zhang Ming, your goddess left as soon as one o’clock today, and didn’t even wait a second.

-is it? Isn’t she a research fanatic? She usually doesn’t go home until nine o’clock.

-What’s the matter with others, not wanting to talk to us does not mean that they don’t have a private life.

-I’m really curious about how the goddess looks like a snow lotus and what her private life is like.

Zhang Ming looked at the messages that popped out from the phone, and his heart was a little bitter without answering a word. The postcard he prepared carefully was still stuffed in his bag. He planned to try it again at night when everyone left. He didn’t expect the goddess to drop off work so early today.

Xing Jiaxin, galloping in the cold wind, didn’t know that she just broke a boy’s heart.

The little e-car made a small whirring sound and Xing Jiaxin was a little distracted. She was thinking, if something went wrong with the little e-car, Can she call Tan You? The problem is that this is outside. So, she wished her car would break down in her home. So that when Tan You comes, she can also happily invite her inside for a cup of tea, and chat with her!

Dozens of minutes later, after the little e-car stopped in the garage, Xing Jiaxin looked at it in the dim light, and finally decided to take a moment to pause.

A good knife should be used at critical moments, and a good excuse should be used at a time when you can be intimate.

Little e-car: Phoof.. long sigh of relief.

Xing Jiaxin went upstairs and kicked off her high heels and threw her bag, then she hugged her phone and slumped on the sofa. It has just been dark, and most people are in the most relaxed state at this point, which is a good time to make a phone call.

The phone number on the receipt was already familiar to her. Jiaxin poked digit by digit, and finally dialed out the number with a trembling finger. There was another sound, so Xing Jiaxin felt a little anxious, stood up, and paced back and forth in the room.

The phone was finally connected, and a male voice with a strong dialect taste asked her: “Where?”

Xing Jiaxin hurriedly said: “Orange City Ninth Hospital, I have a batch of things to transport. Please transfer to Tan You.”

“Tan You? Yes, ah, Just now she returned. I will read out her number, and you can note it down… “

Her heart was very happy. This unexpectedly yielded very good results. Over the other side, was the “Shua Swish” sound of turning pages, and she was reported a string of numbers.

Xing Jiaxin said heartily: “Thank you, goodbye.”

“Did you write it down?” Asked the other person quickly.

“Of course.” Xing Jiaxin hung up the phone.

Do you need a note for noting Tan You’s number? When she listened, she engraved these eleven numbers into her mind, and she would not forget them in another twenty years.

Xing Jiaxin walked around the living room like she was bestowed upon an incredible tribute, with her mobile phone. What kind of tone should she use to speak? Seriously working voice, gentle and intimate voice, sweet and energetic girly voice, or innocent and lovely… voice?

What should I say in the first sentence? Hi? Hello? May I ask if you are Tan You? Do you remember me? No, right? The man said that Tan You returned just now. Will it disturb her if she calls her over at this time?

Xing Jiaxin turned two more times, her stomach collapsed, and her stomach growled twice.

Is the belly urging her to call? Or Is the belly telling her that this is not a good time?
Oh… wait, I’m hungry.

Xing Jiaxin threw her mobile phone and wanted to get something to eat in the refrigerator. When she walked halfway, she felt that she had no ambition to escape like this, so she threw herself back on the sofa, hooked her hand, and the phone turned on.

The soft sofa pressed against her heart, making her heartbeat clearly felt in her brain. She exhaled a long breath and finally dialed the number.

One, two, the phone was answered.

With a soft click, Tan You’s voice came over: “Hello, who is this?” Rea d On Yu ri Tran slations♡

Xing Jiaxin’s heartbeat suddenly stagnated, and she remembered Tan You’s face, which she had not seen much since she grew up. She just listened to her voice, sounding more mature. The time went like as if it was split by a sword, and twelve years were over just in a flash.

She suddenly discovered that, in fact, the biggest problem with this call was that without the disguise of a face-lifted face, would her voice remind Tan You of anything?

“Hey, can you hear me?” Tan You couldn’t wait to answer, and repeated a few words impatiently, “Hello, hello?”

Xing Jiaxin had a premonition that she would hang up the phone next second, so she had to answer. She hurriedly said: “I’m listening, can you hear?” She didn’t know what sort of voice she was talking with.

After a moment’s pause, Tan You asked, “Is there anything wrong with you?”

“I have something.” Xing Jiaxin quickly sorted out her chaotic brain, “There is a batch of good …not only a batch, and I’m not sure about the frequency… But I want to ask you to pull it.”

“Where to?”

“Orange City Ninth Courtyard…” Xing Jiaxin squeezed her finger, “To Moon Lake Villa.”

“Huh?” Tan You let out a surprised snort, and suddenly laughed, “The distance is too close.”

“Expenses. You drive.” Xing Jiaxin hurriedly said, “On the basis of guaranteeing your profit.”

“That’s okay.” Tan You promised very neatly, “Notify me one day in advance when you want to pull.”

“Do you know who I am? “Xing Jiaxin asked.

“I know, I can remember your voice.” Tan You smiled and said, “Wang Zengqi.”
